LOTUS POND

Introduction
Lotus is a type of floating aquatic plant of the genus Nelumbo. Lotus can be found in aquatic cultures throughout the world. It grows in shallow murky ponds and lakes that are exposed to direct sunlight. Maximum height of Lotus is 49 inches and it spreads 10 feet horizontally (width). Its leaves are paddle shaped. Some of the leaves are submerged, while others float on water surface. Color of lotus flower is either pink or white. Lotus flower is rich in fibers, B group vitamins, source of iron and other important minerals.
