The Salt Range is of immense importance from historical point of view as the age of rocks in the area vary from 10,000 years to 550 million years old, that is why Salt Range is called the Geological Museum of Pakistan. In this diorama Salt Range has been displayed showing fossil deposits, coal and salt mines and different formations of rocks ranging in age from Pre-Cambrian to Pliestocene..
